As many suspected, the E3 Event is canceled for this year. Will Powers, PR for gaming peripheral manufacturer Razer, said in a tweet that he got an email stating that the digital event was canceled. IGN also reported the news, saying they had also independently viewed the email confirming E3’s cancellation.
Just got an email… It’s official, E3 digital is official cancelled for 2022. Lots of mixed feelings about this…

Many will remember the excitement and hype that you felt in the upcoming weeks for the Event, so it is kinda sad to see it go, but. hopefully they will be back in 2023 as stated in a tweet from Axios’ Stephen Totilo, the ESA said, “E3 will return in 2023 with a reinvigorated showcase that celebrates new and exciting video games and industry innovations.” E3 2023 is expected to be both an online and in-person event.
So now what, is the summer for gaming events ruined this year? The good news is, no. This year we will get another Summer Game Fest, announced by the man himself Geoff Keighley, Summer Game Fest 2022 is confirmed for June of this year.
Excited to share that @SummerGameFest will return this June with a slate of events. We’ll be producing another Kickoff Live show with announcements, news and first looks.
